Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws has requested a personal hearing with Football Association disciplinary officials after being charged with improper conduct.

Laws was involved in a heated exchange with match officials at the end of the Owls' draw at Deepdale earlier this month when Preston scored a controversial stoppage-time equaliser.

Laws, who appeared to have been ordered from his pitchside position, later accused referee Andy Penn of showing "poor leadership and communication with his fourth official" after the Wednesday boss's failed attempt to send on substitute James O'Connor.
