Millwall continued their impressive away form with a 1-0 win at MK Dons which took them level on points with their third-placed hosts in Coca-Cola League One.

The Lions went ahead with Marc Laird's 19th-minute goal and stayed that way, despite the best efforts of the Dons - who nonetheless remain ahead of them on goal difference.

There were also 3-0 home wins for Scunthorpe, Swindon and Walsall.

The Robins were the ones who upset the formbook as Hal Robson-Kanu (13) and two penalties from Simon Cox (19 and 90) went unanswered by Southend at the County Ground.

Scunthorpe had every right to beat relegation candidates Hereford and duly did so thanks to Gary Hooper (seven), Kevan Hurst (19) and Paul Hayes (79).

Walsall were indebted to Mark Bradley (14), Troy Deeney (30) and Anthony Gerrard (39) against struggling Brighton.

Crewe's mid-table set-to with Bristol Rovers was a largely drab affair at Gresty Road, which finished 1-1 after Dennis Lawrence's 70th-minute opener for the hosts was quickly followed by an equaliser from Darryl Duffy (74).

Cheltenham kept their hopes alive at the bottom with a 1-0 win at home to Tranmere, courtesy of David Bird's goal in only the third minute.
