Barnsley have been charged by the FA for failing to control their players towards the end of their clash with Coventry in April.
The Tykes were heading for a 1-0 win at The Ricoh Arena when Freddy Eastwood`s shot appeared to hit Bobby Hassell on the chest in the penalty box and, although referee Steven Cook initially waved play on, his assistant Martin Dexter flagged and a penalty was awarded.
Barnsley's players then angrily surrounded both referee and linesman before Elliott Ward stepped up to convert for the spot.
As a result the Reds have been charged with "failing to ensure its players and/or officials conduct themselves in an orderly fashion" and have until May 27 to respond.
