Hereford boss John Trewick is willing to bide his time before rushing into the transfer market to bolster his squad.
The 51-year-old has already made full-back Keith Lowe his first summer signing but wants to spend more time finding players with the right attitude and character.
He told the club's official website: "If I can go out and sign four or five players that I want in the next week or two then that is what I will do but there are a lot of players out there at the moment and I think it would be wise to hold on and see what develops."
He added: "It would be very easy to sign a lot of players early and then later on wonder if I've done the right thing, I've want to make sure it's absolutely right for the football club. It's not only the player in terms of technical ability, it's the person, I'm very much into the character side of football.
"I want people to come here to represent the football club in the best possible light and give everything they've got, if they do that they won't have a problem but if they want to short change the football club they will have a problem.
"I make that quite clear to everybody I speak to, if they give me honesty and 100% commitment then that's okay with me."
