Brewers target Edworthy deal

Burton boss Paul Peschisolido hopes he can strike a deal to bring veteran defender Marc Edworthy to the Pirelli Stadium.

Edworthy, 36, played for the Football League newcomers in their pre-season friendly victory at Altrincham on Saturday.

Peschisolido said: "I'd love to have Eddy. He's solid, vastly experienced and a good leader. He is someone I would definitely like to bring to the club and we are talking money at the minute."

Edworthy was on a short-term deal with Leicester last season but despite helping the Foxes to win the League One title, the former Crystal Palace, Norwich and Derby full-back was released at the end of the campaign.
