Veteran winger Andy Liddell is hopeful of earning himself a long-term deal with Rotherham.
Manager Mark Robins drafted the 36-year-old into his squad on a one-month deal to compensate for the loss of Reuben Reid to West Brom.
"If I do well then hopefully Rotherham will extend my contract, if I don't do well it's down to me," Liddell told BBC Radio Sheffield.
Liddell is in line to turn out for the Millers in their season-opener with Accrington on Saturday.
