Plymouth have signed former Barnsley goalkeeper Kyle Letheren.
The 21-year-old has been added to the Argyle squad on a short-term deal as cover for club captain and current number one Romain Larrieu.
Boss Paul Sturrock was forced to bring in extra cover after youngster Lloyd Saxton was diagnosed with a wrist problem that requires an operation and he said: "We have brought in Kyle on a short-term deal to help us through the first couple of games."
He added: "He has come here to prove himself and it gives him an opportunity to impress us."
Letheren began his career as a youngster with Swansea before moving on to Barnsley, via a loan spell at Newport County.
He has been a free agent since being released by the Tykes at the end of last season.
