Owls in striker talks

Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws has revealed he is in negotiations to bring an unnamed striker to Hillsborough on loan.

Laws was speaking after his side bundled Rochdale out of the Carling Cup with a 3-0 first-round win at Hillsborough.

"I've spoken to a player who we're after," said Laws.

"The manager and the football club have agreed a deal in principle, it is just a case of the player agreeing to come here."
