Gowling extends Gills stay

Gillingham have extended the loan deal of Carlisle defender Josh Gowling for a further month.

The 25-year-old has been ever-present for the Gills so far this season but his previous loan deal expired after Saturday`s 1-0 defeat to Hartlepool.

Manager Mark Stimson was hoping to agree a permanent deal for the former Bournemouth man this week, but Gowling has penned a one-month loan extension which will allow him to play in Tuesday night`s Carling Cup clash at home to Premier League side Blackburn.
