Norwich boss Paul Lambert praised his side after they held out to secure a 1-0 victory against Carlisle.

Wes Hoolahan took advantage of an error by veteran midfielder Graham Kavanagh to score the only goal of the game and extend Norwich's run to four straight wins.

Lambert said: "We were a club without a manager early in the season and all the uncertainty so it's great to give the fans something back."

He added: "We were excellent. I'm delighted with the performance. Carlisle are a good side and it's a hard place to win.

"You don't win anything in October but we have raised the spirits of the club."
