Lincoln manager Chris Sutton has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association following his behaviour in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Cheltenham.

Sutton was sent to the stands amid ugly scenes at Sincil Bank sparked by the dismissal of Aaron Brown.

As Brown made his way off scuffles broke out as the two benches confronted each other and after a seven-minute delay referee Graham Salisbury showed further red cards to Lincoln substitute Ian Pearce and Cheltenham sub Barry Richardson, neither of whom actually got onto the pitch during the game.

Sutton has until 6pm next Tuesday to accept or deny the charge or to request a personal hearing with the FA.
