Charlton boss Phil Parkinson remains hopeful of keeping hold of on-loan striker Akpo Sodje.

Sodje has scored twice for the Addicks despite carrying an injury niggle which has restricted him to substitute appearances. His initial one-month spell from Sheffield Wednesday expires ahead of Saturday's trip to Stockport but Parkinson wants him to stay on at The Valley and help the club's promotion push.

"Akpo's loan is up before the Stockport game, so hopefully we'll be able to extend that," he said.

"We really want to keep him because he's a player who has already made a contribution, but we feel there is more of a contribution to come from him.

"He was unfortunate that he strained his hamstring slightly against Yeovil, and it's only now we've got him on the training ground properly."
