Korey Smith's late strike was enough to hand Norwich a 1-0 win - their ninth victory in 11 games - against struggling Wycombe at Adams Park.

Smith broke the deadlock 13 miutes from time, sliding home Wes Hoolahan's cutback to fire the Canaries into second place in League One.

Wycombe made a bright start with Jon-Paul Pittman firing over on the turn from close range after eight minutes, but from then on it was all Norwich.

Wes Hoolahan was first to go close for the visitors with a 25-yard drive just clearing the bar midway through the first half before Simon Lappin rattled the bar with a left-footed free kick from the edge of the box.

Chris Martin was next to trouble Wycombe as his rasping 30-yard free kick also hit the bar and Chairboys keeper Scott Shearer then had to tip Russell Martin's dipping volley over.

Shearer was called into action again ten minutes into the second half as he spectacularly turned Russell Martin's long range strike behind.

Matt Phillips then hit the post for Wycombe, but it was Norwich who grabbed the winner when Smith fired home late on.
