Ten-man Bradford halted their run of three consecutive home defeats with a 1-1 draw against Cheltenham at Valley Parade.

The Bantams led 1-0 at half-time after James O'Brien put them in front with a low left-footed shot through a crowded goalmouth after the Robins defence failed to clear Simon Ramsden's cross.

However, Cheltenham seized the initiative at the start of the second half and were awarded a penalty after 53 minutes when defender Steve Williams fouled Justin Richards and was sent off for a second bookable offence before Richards equalised from the spot.

It was the third match in a row that Bradford had a player sent off, but Cheltenham failed to capitalise on their numerical advantage.

Julien Alsop missed a great chance to win it for the visitors when he headed wide from an unmarked position after 71 minutes before leading scorer James Hanson went close for Bradford in stoppage time.
