Football News 24/7Newcastle manager Chris Hughton has not given up hope of signing Nottingham Forest defender James Perch.
The Championship leaders had what Forest boss Billy Davies called a "derisory" bid for the player turned down this week. Davies holds the 24-year-old in high regard and insists he will not be leaving the City Ground.
Hughton told Sky Sports News: "The situation with that is the club have made an official offer for him. It was done through the correct channels and we will see what happens."
