Bristol City defender Christian Ribeiro has joined Colchester on a month's loan.
The 20-year-old will join up with the Us for Saturday's home game against Gillingham - and he could face fellow City youngster Tristan Plummer who has gone on loan to the Gills.
Wales Under-21 international Ribeiro suffered cruciate knee ligament damage on his City debut against Peterborough in August 2008 but proved his return to fitness during a loan spell at Stockport earlier this season.
City manager Gary Johnson told the club's official website: "Christian needs to go out and play games to gain confidence with a side playing well.
"He has a big future with us, he's a great prospect but he needs games to be ready for the Championship after his long-term injury."
