Chesterfield boss John Sheridan will have Frankie Artus available for the final time when Aldershot visit Saltergate.

The on-loan midfielder is due to return to parent club Bristol City after Saturday's clash and Sheridan has yet to make a decision on whether or not he will extend Artus' stay.

Aaron Downes, who had returned from an eight-month absence with ligament damage, was forced off against Port Vale on February 9 after suffering another injury to the same knee.

The Australian centre-half will see a specialist in the near future but early indications are he is unlikely to play again this season.

Striker Jack Lester is still recovering from knee surgery and is not expected back until the end of March or early April.

Aldershot have a fitness doubt over top-scorer Marvin Morgan.

Striker Morgan came off at half-time in the 3-2 home defeat to Dagenham in midweek after complaining of a back injury and will be monitored closely.

However, manager Kevin Dillon could have a ready-made replacement as on-loan Bristol City forward Marlon Jackson is close to a return.

Jackson has missed the last five games with a knee injury but has a chance of being fit to face the Spireites.

Former Reading midfielder John Halls (groin) remains sidelined, though defender Dave Winfield is fit after recovering from a bout of food poisoning.

Striker John Grant joined Blue Square Premier side Oxford on loan this week until the end of the season but Omer Riza could take his place in the squad after signing as a free agent on Thursday.
