Marvin Morgan took his goals tally for the season to 12 as Aldershot kept up their League Two play-off aspirations with a 2-0 win at home to Shrewsbury.

Oliver Bozanic opened the scoring for Kevin Dillon's men on the half-hour mark before Morgan wrapped up the points with the thunderbolt in the 73rd minute.

The hosts were by far the best team in the first half with Morgan firing wide and defender Aaron Brown going close from a Bozanic free-kick.

And their dominance paid off as Anthony Straker's cross was turned in by Bozanic for his third goal of the season.

Shrewsbury were struggling to get a foothold in the game with midfielder Paul Murray squandering their best first-half chance.

But the visitors were much improved after the break and controlled the early play.

However, normal service was resumed when Morgan and Straker combined for the latter to lash the ball into the arms of goalkeeper David Button.

And Morgan eventually doubled the Shots' lead midway through the second half, hammering into the roof of the net after being teed up by Straker.
