Harrad keeps Brewers in play-off hunt: Match Review

Shaun Harrad scored his 17th goal of the campaign to keep Burton's play-off hopes alive with a 2-0 win at Accrington.

The striker slotted home in the 27th minute after winger Cleveland Taylor had done all the hard work on the right and fired in a low cross for Harrad to convert from eight yards.

And Burton made it safe 11 minutes from time when Greg Pearson raced through from a goalkick and slotted the ball into the bottom of the net.

Albion battled hard for the win in driving rain as Stanley's hopes of closing in on the top seven took a knock.

Harrad was the main dangerman for the Brewers although Pearson was lively up front but the Reds were counting the cost of not taking their chances.

Stanley defender Darran Kempson headed centimetres over while Brewers keeper Artur Krysiak spilled a Jimmy Ryan free kick and captain Andy Procter somehow steered the rebound wide from four yards.

Accrington sub Gary King also had a free header before Pearson's second made it safe.
