Queudrue sign former Birmingham defender

Colchester have signed defender Franck Queudrue on loan from Premier League side Birmingham.

The 31-year-old former Middlesbrough full-back has penned a deal at the Community Stadium until the end of the season.

"There were other clubs interested in me but they were mid-table sides and I was pleased to join a promotion push," he said. "I spent eight years in the Premier League and one in the Championship and I know this will be a physical league. But I am looking forward to playing football and helping Colchester in their promotion push."

Queudrue is set to go straight into the Us' squad for Saturday's clash with Wycombe.
