Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope will keep faith with the same squad against Southend after failing in his attempts to bring in any fresh faces before Thursday's loan deadline.

Trollope was unable sign West Brom striker Chris Wood after the Championship outfit decided not to let him leave the Hawthorns.

On-loan Fulham midfielder Wayne Brown has picked up another knock and will not be returning to the Memorial Stadium this season.

The Pirates, who lost 2-1 at Southend in October, are nine points away from the play-off places in League One and will be looking for a second successive win following last weekend's impressive 3-0 drubbing of rivals Yeovil.

Adam Barrett and Jean Francois Christophe will return to the Southend squad for their trip.

Centre-half Barrett is back after a one-match suspension and midfielder Christophe has completed a four-game ban following his red card against Charlton last month.

But the Shrimpers will have to manage without influential winger Damian Scannell, who will be sidelined for the rest of the season after breaking his fifth metatarsal during the 3-0 win over Walsall on Tuesday night.

French forward Francis Laurent is in line for a return after missing the last two games with a pelvic problem.

Young goalkeeper Daniel Bentley will keep his place on the bench if Kelvin Jack's hamstring problem rules him out again.
