A stunning late goal from Morecambe defender Darren Moss gave Morecambe a 1-0 victory over play-off rivals Dagenham.

After missing a string of chances the Shrimps finally scored the goal they deserved when Moss chose the perfect moment to score his first Morecambe goal, unleashing an unstoppable left-foot volley that flew into the top left-hand corner of Tony Roberts` goal.

Before then it had been a frustrating afternoon for Sammy McIlroy's side who, after a slow start, missed a host of chances with Stewart Drummond missing an open goal and Paul Mullin and Garry Hunter both hitting the post.

Dagenham failed to test Morecambe's goal with their only efforts being two weak Josh Scott strikes.
