Boss Phil Parkinson conceded that Charlton`s automatic promotion hopes were all-but over after his side`s 1-1 draw at Exeter.
George Friend headed City into the lead but Kyel Reid gave the Addicks a share of the spoils when his shot was adjudged to have crossed the line.
Charlton are five points behind second-placed Leeds with two matches remaining and Parkinson said: "We had enough chances to have taken all three points but I can't fault the lads for their endeavour again and a point guarantees us a place in the play-offs."
He added: "We have to concentrate on ourselves because we can't affect anything else. We just wanted to win this game and I thought we did everything within our powers to do that.
"But odds are stacked against us after Saturday`s results, but we will keep going. The play-offs are a worst case scenario."
