Crewe have accepted a bid from Derby for young duo John Brayford and James Bailey.

Defender Brayford, 22, who has been at the Alex since 2008 made 45 league appearances in the 2009/10 season and is a long-term target for the Rams who were keen to take him to Pride Park last summer.

Bailey, 21, is a Crewe Academy Graduate who made his debut as a late replacement against Doncaster in 2007 and has become a regular midfield starter for the last two campaigns.

The two clubs are now in advanced negotiations regarding the players` personal terms and routine medical checks are set to be taken with the deal expected to be finalised within the next 48 hours.

Crewe manager Dario Gradi told the club`s official website: "We are very close to a deal now. Everything has been agreed between the two clubs and both players are eager to go to Derby. They have not signed yet but we do not envisage any problems."
