Brentford manager Andy Scott is confident striker Carl Cort will sign a new contract.

The 32-year-old, who scored seven goals in 30 appearances this season, is currently on holiday. But, despite reported interest from Sheffield Wednesday, Scott expects the former Newcastle man to remain at Griffin Park.

"We've made an offer to Carl, and from the last conversation we had, he was happy with it, and we expect him to sign," Scott told the Hounslow Chronicle.

Fellow striker Ben Strevens will not be staying, though, after being told he can look for another club.
