Arsenal have made a bid for Wigan Athletic’s Hugo Rodallega, according to the player himself.
The Gunners have already tied up the signing of Marouane Chamakh to strengthen his attacking options but have now set their sights on Wigan’s Colombian striker.
With Cesc Fabregas edging closer to the Emirates exit door, Arsene Wenger will have a significant transfer budget and has reportedly put in an eight-figured offer for Rodallega.
Rodallega told The Sun: “I don’t know if I’ll stay at Wigan but I do know Arsenal have made an offer for me.”
Whether Roberto Martinez would consider letting the 24-year-old leave is another matter, with Birmingham seriously interested in midfielder Charles N’Zogbia.
Rodallega would not be expected to start for Arsenal, either, as Wenger looks set to favour Robin van Persie and Chamakh up front together.
