Charlton have offered a professional contract to England youth captain Jordan Cousins.
The defender will become a scholar in the League One club`s academy next season before signing his first contract when he turns 17 on March 6 2011.
Cousins told the club`s official website: "I`m delighted to be told about getting a pro deal. There was always going to be interest from other clubs but I think it was best for me to stay at Charlton."
He added: "Being from Greenwich, hopefully making my home debut will be one of the best feelings I can have. That's a big reason why I agreed to sign."
