Colchester chairman expands role

Colchester chairman Robbie Cowling is expanding his role at the club to incorporate a greater interest in financial matters.

Cowling, who will now take on a new position of executive chairman, has also promoted Tim Waddington from commercial manager to general manager, overseeing all areas in the running of the club.

Cowling will now take a more hands-on approach when it comes to the business side of things, something he has unofficially been doing since the start of June. He told the club`s official website: "This new role will allow me to dedicate some of my time to concentrate solely on the club`s financial matters."
