Ipswich boss Roy Keane believes Luciano Civelli could be a "surprise package" next season.

The Argentinian winger has been sidelined for 15 months after suffering a knee ligament injury but reported for pre-season training along with his team-mates on Monday. Keane told the club's official website: "Luca has had the thumbs up from the medical people to start full-time training and that's obviously good news.

"He could be a surprise package for us. I have seen him in action on video and he looks a good player. He's had a serious injury, though, and we have to be patient."

Meanwhile, former England full-back Mike Pejic has been appointed head of youth coaching and coach education in Town's academy.
