Mellor joins Owls

Preston North End striker Neil Mellor has joined Sheffield Wednesday on a season-long loan.

Mellor, who has been at Deepdale since 2006, will join former manager Alan Irvine and team mate Chris Sedgwick at Hillsborough for the 2010/11 League One campaign.

The striker was placed on the transfer tlist by Darren Ferguson at the end of last season along with Richard Chaplow, Darren Carter, Michael Hart, Neill Collins, Stephen Elliot, Eddie Nolan and Neal Trotman.
