Rotherham chairman Tony Stewart has set boss Ronnie Moore a target of automatic promotion in the forthcoming npower League Two campaign.

After a summer of heavy spending last year the Millers were expected to go up last term, but after losing manager Mark Robins to Barnsley in September the season ended in ultimate disappointment with a play-off final defeat at Wembley against Dagenham.

Stewart, who is overseeing the building of a new stadium which will see the club return to Rotherham, also has a four-year plan to see the Millers return to the Championship and insists promotion is a must this term.

"That target has not changed whilst acknowledging that with any business, any football club, there is a certain amount of luck involved," Stewart told the Star.

"People can see we are moving forward. The manager is now bringing in his own team of people, recruiting as he sees fit and it leaves me and the board to think we have a good chance to get an automatic promotion place this time."
