Leeds winger Robert Snodgrass is likely to miss the first month of the npower Championship season with a knee injury.
The Scot was the victim of a heavy challenge from David Nielsen in Leeds' 3-1 pre-season win over Norwegian outfit SK Brann, and manager Simon Grayson was worried that Snodgrass had sustained ligament damage.
However, while a second scan revealed no major trauma to the knee, Grayson will not rush the former Livingston man back into action. He told the club's official website: "Contrary to reports, Snoddy's injury isn't as bad as first feared."
Grayson added: "As ever we don't put a timescale on these things but we expect to have Snoddy back sooner rather than later."
