Middlesbrough goalkeeper Brad Jones will undergo a medical on Monday and complete his dream Anfield move this week, according to Skysports.com.

The two teams have been in talks for over a week, and negotiations looked to have stopped after the Boro rejected a £2 million offer.

However, Liverpool upped that to £2.5 million and, despite issues with how that fee was paid, Gordon Strachan decided to accept.

Jones has been keen on the move ever since it came about and, although he knows he is likely to be the No.2, Pepe Reina’s blunder at the weekend will have given the Australian confidence.

The 28-year-old counts as one of Liverpool’s eight home grown players, having played for Middlesbrough for over 10 years, and will provide adequate back up for their Spanish number one stopper.

Skysports believe he has now agreed personal terms and will pen a three-year contract once his medical is completed.
