Huddersfield trio Alex Smithies, Lee Peltier and Anthony Pilkington are all in contention for the home clash with Bournemouth.

Goalkeeper Smithies has been released by England Under-21s to play for the Terriers this weekend before possibly joining back up with Stuart Pearce's squad early next week.

Defender Peltier is available again following his one-game ban and winger Pilkington will return to the squad after missing the last two matches due to a twisted ankle.

Liam Ridehalgh made his first senior appearance for the Terriers in last week's home win over Charlton and is expected to continue at left-back as first choice Gary Naysmith is still nursing a toe injury.

Midfielder Scott Arfield and winger Graham Carey are on Under-21s international duty with Scotland and the Republic of Ireland respectively.

Bournemouth strike duo Michael Symes and Josh McQuoid are both doubts.

Symes and McQuoid have struck up a promising partnership since the departure of leading marksman Brett Pitman to Bristol City, but both sat out Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy penalty shoot-out loss to Torquay with injury.

McQuoid (calf) is the most likely of the two to feature, while the game may come too soon for Symes (shoulder).

Jayden Stockley led the line in their absence against the Gulls, and Lyle Taylor will also be vying for a starting place along with veteran Lee Bradbury.

Left-back Rhoys Wiggins was not risked in midweek due to an ankle problem, and he will be looking to claim his place back from Warren Cummings.

Steve Fletcher (heel) continues to battle back to fitness, while Mark Molesley (foot) and Steve Lovell (ankle) are long-term casualties.
