Burton romped to a 3-0 win as woeful Hereford crumbled to a third successive defeat.

The home side were always in control after two goals in four minutes by veteran forward Richard Walker and fellow striker Shaun Harrad.

Walker put Burton in front in the 27th minute, turning to shoot past Adam Bartlett from six yards after full-back Aaron Webster got a touch to a John McGrath free-kick.

Webster, making his 500th appearance for the Stafforshire club, then provided the defence-splitting pass which was drilled home by Harrad.

Burton had to wait only until the first minute of the second half for their third goal when midfielder Russell Penn's 20-yard shot was deflected past Bartlett.

It was virtually one-way traffic in the second half with Bartlett producing more heroics to deny Walker, who also rattled the woodwork.
