Sheffield United skipper Chris Morgan may have to settle for a place on the bench again when Scunthorpe visit Bramall Lane.
The Blades recorded their second successive 1-0 win without Morgan at Derby on Saturday so boss Gary Speed is unlikely to tinker with his back-line.
Morgan was expected to replace Kyle Bartley or Nyron Nosworthy at Pride Park after overcoming a calf injury but was on the bench.
Jean Calve and Ched Evans should stay in the starting line-up despite coming off on Saturday but long-term absentees Darius Henderson (hamstring), Lee Williamson (back) and Ryan France (knee) are still sidelined.
Speed is expected to name the same starting line-up for the third game in a row as they go in search of their third consecutive win.
Scunthorpe caretaker boss Ian Baraclough will assess the fitness of centre-back Rob Jones ahead of the trip.
Jones sustained a knock in Saturday`s 2-0 home defeat to Bristol City and was replaced midway through the first half by Niall Canavan.
Baraclough will check on Jones` fitness but he will be without Garry Thompson and Jim McNulty.
Winger Thompson remains sidelined after being ruled out for up to two months due to a groin injury.
On-loan Brighton left-back McNulty sustained an ankle injury in the recent 2-0 defeat at QPR and looks set to remain sidelined as the Iron begin life after Nigel Adkins following his defection to Southampton.
First-team coach Baraclough, 39, said: "I've never hidden the fact that one day I would like to be a manager."
