Woeful Walsall crashed to the bottom of League One as fellow strugglers Yeovil picked up their first away win of the season at the Banks' Stadium.

It was the Saddlers' eighth game without a win and they have lost seven of them, putting manager Chris Hutchings under severe pressure.

Watched by their lowest crowd of the season in the League, 3172, they surrendered all three points in the 70th minute when veteran central defender Adam Virgo went up to meet a free-kick from Gavin Williams and scored with a towering header.

Walsall were poor, showing little fight when it mattered and Yeovil could have had the game sewn up in the first half if Sam Williams had taken his chances, and at the start of the second half only a brilliant save by home keeper Jonny Brain prevented Dean Bowditch scoring with a fierce free-kick.

Walsall put on a burst of pressure in which Glovers' keeper Stephen Henderson pulled off fine saves from Matt Richards and Alex Nicholls but Yeovil were well worth the points.
