Poole makes Pools plunge

Hartlepool have signed young Manchester City striker James Poole on a month's loan.

The 20-year-old, who can also play on the wing, was part of the City squad which won the FA Youth Cup in 2008 and signed a new one-year deal at Eastlands in March.

Poole, who had a loan spell with Bury last season, will play for Pools' reserves against Gateshead on Wednesday evening and could make his first-team debut at Leyton Orient on Saturday.
