Former Barnsley striker Paul Hayes has rejoined the Tykes on a two-month loan deal from Preston.

Tykes manager Mark Robins, who has agreed to let Iain Hume remain at Preston for the duration of his emergency loan, has drafted in Hayes with a view to a completing permanent deal when the transfer window reopens in January.

Hayes, who began his career at Norwich before moving on to Scunthorpe in 2002, signed for Barnsley in the summer of 2005 and helped the Tykes secure promotion from npower League One the following season.
