Northampton ended a six-match winless run with a 2-1 win over Gillingham in npower League Two.

Chris Palmer put Gillingham ahead but it was Ian Sampson's team who ran out victors thanks to goals from Dean Beckwith and Leon McKenzie.

Nine-man Morecambe sunk further towards the relegation zone with a 3-1 defeat at Torquay.

Andy Parrish's ninth-minute dismissal allowed Torquay to take the lead through Elliot Benyon but Morecambe hit back through Chris McCready.

Benyon added his second and Romone Rose stepped off the bench to round off the win with 20 minutes left, before Chris Shuker was the second Morecambe man to receive his marching orders soon after.

Wycombe were held to a 2-2 draw with strugglers Lincoln at Adams Park.

Kevin Betsy headed Wycombe in front with just 45 seconds on the clock only to see his goal cancelled out by Mustapha Carayol.

Scott Davies thought he had won it for the home side but Ben Hutchinson latched onto Drewe Broughton's ball to equalise with little over 20 minutes left.

A Hamza Bencherif double gave Macclesfield their third straight home win against Burton Albion, for whom James Collins found the net while Blair Sturrock scored to end Southend's three-match winless run against high-flying Rotherham.
