Magpies swoop for Sodje

Notts County have confirmed the signing of defender Sam Sodje.

The 31-year-old becomes the first recruit under the Paul Ince regime and has signed a deal until June 2012.

Sodje arrives at Meadow Lane with a reputation as a goalscoring centre-back having netted over 30 goals during his career.

The Nigerian recently spent time training with Sheffield Wednesday but, contrary to reports, was unable to sign for the Owls as they are currently under a transfer embargo, allowing Notts to jump in and seal his signature.
