Seagulls winger breaks ankle

Brighton winger Kazenga LuaLua will be sidelined for 10 weeks after breaking his ankle.

The 19-year-old's loan spell from Newcastle has come to a premature end after he suffered the injury during Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Hartlepool.

"This is a major blow as Kaz has been in excellent form for us this season and at times he's been our matchwinner," said Seagulls boss Gus Poyet.

LuaLua's initial loan with Albion ends on January 3 but Poyet hopes to bring him back to the south coast once he is fit again.

"We will liaise with Newcastle and their medical staff and I hope we see Kaz back in Albion colours before the season ends."
