Alan Knill's Bury outgunned Burton 3-1 at the Pirelli Stadium to record their fifth successive away victory and move second in the npower League Two table for a night at least.

Mike Jones gave the Shakers the lead in superb fashion in the 10th minute when he cut in from the left and lashed a right-footed shot beyond the reach of Burton goalkeeper Adam Legzdins.

Ryan Lowe curled a shot narrowly wide as Bury continued to dominate before Aaron Webster brought the home side to life with a header and low drive that both went close.

Improving Burton were rewarded with the equaliser in the 29th minute when James Collins was on hand to drive home a 10-yard shot after keeper Owain Fon Williams spilled an Adam Bolder shot.

But it took a double save from Legzdins to deny Steve Schumacher and Efe Sodje at the other end.

Bury regained the lead through on-loan Manchester United youngster Nicky Ajose's well-judged lob in the 53rd minute and the visitors quickly went close to a third goal when Andy Haworth crashed a shot against the crossbar.

The visitors sealed their win when Sodje powerfully blasted home a Peter Sweeney corner in the 73rd minute.
