Alberto Bueno's hamstring injury is not as serious as was first feared and the Derby striker could be back in action within a fortnight.
The Spaniard, on a season-long loan from Real Valladolid, was forced off after only 14 minutes of the 2-1 defeat against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday evening.
Rams manager Nigel Clough was initially worried that Bueno may be missing until the start of the Christmas fixtures but a scan has shown only minor damage, although the 22-year-old will definitely miss the visit of promotion rivals Norwich this weekend.
"It has been a frustrating month for Alberto with injuries and he will certainly miss the Norwich match," Clough told the club's official website.
"We won`t rule him out beyond that. We will have to see next week how he is progressing and responding to treatment."
