Notts County added to the relegation fears of woeful Walsall with an easy 3-0 win at the Banks's Stadium, extending their own unbeaten run to five games.

It took County only nine minutes to open up the suspect Walsall defence, Craig Westcarr running on to a pass from Mike Edwards, beating the offside trap and Walsall keeper Jonny Brain allowed his fierce shot to escape his grasp and sail into the net.

And after 16 minutes the visitors extended their lead, Lee Miller being allowed a free header from a deep cross by the lively Alan Judge.

Walsall tried to hit back and Steve Jones saw his shot after 25 minutes deflected for a corner by Magpies' keeper Rob Burch, who then smothered a low drive from Julian Gray.

But in the second half County were in virtual total control, adding a third goal in the 56th minute when central defender Krystian Pearce was given space at the near post to head in a corner from former Walsall trainee Ben Davies.
