Preston manager Phil Brown believes there is a "possibility" of him signing Leicester striker Martyn Waghorn.

Brown spoke with his Foxes counterpart Sven-Goran Eriksson after Saturday's 1-1 draw at Deepdale.

The former Sunderland forward was an unused substitute in that game, and Brown told the Evening Post: "Sven does like his strikers, so we'll see what happens. There is a possibility with Martyn, but a faint possibility at the moment. The communication lines are open which is important."

He added: "You look at Premier League and Championship squads, and see the players who are not involved. Where Martyn Waghorn is concerned, there was a lot of interest at this club before I arrived."

"Martyn was on the bench on Saturday, and the conversation I had with Sven after the game led me to believe that he hasn't finished shopping yet."
