Lion Purse joins boyhood club

Millwall have secured the services of central defender Darren Purse.

Purse, who was released by Sheffield Wednesday on Thursday, has signed a deal at the Den until the end of the season and Lions manager Kenny Jackett was delighted to sign a player of Purse's calibre.

"Darren brings great experience to the squad and strengthens us in the central defensive area where we are struggling at the moment," Jackett told the club's official website.

"He's a Millwall fan and I'm sure he will relish the opportunity to play for this club."
