Charlton have completed the signing of Plymouth striker Bradley Wright-Phillips for an undisclosed fee.

He has penned an 18-month contract and becomes manager Chris Powell's first signing since taking charge at the Valley.

Powell told the club's official website: "I am very happy to have a player of his calibre joining our squad."

Wright Phillips, who saw a move to Reading fall through a fortnight ago due to injury, added: "I'm delighted to join Charlton. It's a club which I'm sure is heading in the right direction, and as soon as I spoke to the manager, I knew I wanted to be part of it."

The 25-year-old is the top scorer in League One this season with 13 goals.

He began his career at Manchester City alongside half-brother and England international Shaun before moving on to Southampton.
