Oldham were held 1-1 at home by new bottom club Dagenham & Redbridge in npower League One.

Dale Stephens shot Oldham in front after 50 minutes, but Romain Vincelot headed the equaliser after 73 minutes and the visitors held on despite having Peter Gain dismissed at the start of added time.

Milton Keynes looked set to give Gary Megson a miserable start to his managerial reign at Sheffield Wednesday when they went 2-0 up at Hillsborough through a Peter Leven penalty (18 minutes) and Daniel Powell (27).

Gary Mackenzie's sending off after 41 minutes gave Wednesday hope, Neil Mellor got one back after 69 minutes, Clinton Morrison levelled with seven minutes left and the visitors ended the match with only nine men after Leven was dismissed - also for two yellow card offences.

Elliot Benyon salvaged a point for Swindon at home to Rochdale, equalising in added time after Craig Dawson's 81st minute goal, while Hartlepool left it late against Colchester - Antony Sweeney netting the winner two minutes from time.

Brentford were 2-0 winners over Plymouth thanks to Myles Weston's double after 35 and 56 minutes and Walsall climbed off the foot the table with a 3-1 victory at Carlisle.

Mathew Gill's opener after 37 minutes was followed by a second-half brace from Julian Gray before Carlisle managed a late consolation from Peter Murphy.

Notts County were 1-0 up at Tranmere when the match was abandoned after 55 minutes because of a waterlogged pitch. Alow Gow had scored after 28 minutes.
