Moroccan midfielder Merouane Zemmama arrived on Teesside with the dream of playing for Middlesbrough in the Barclays Premier League.
The 27-year-old could be handed his debut against Swansea on Saturday after completing a transfer window move from Hibernian and he has made no secret of his aims.
He said: "I'm looking to help the team achieve a good position this season and then try to win promotion next season."
He added: "My aim is to play for Boro in the Premier League."
Zemmama is diminutive in stature at just 5ft 6in tall but he was quick to side-step comparisons with crowd favourite Juninho.
He added: "I'm Zemmama, not Juninho - but I will do my best to help the team."
